Busy, Busy, Busy

It turned out that Mom & I only built one shelf yesterday. She needed to go to the hardware store for more wood, so we just called it a day & hung out the rest of the day. My younger sister was there & sick as a dog. The flu has been going around & many are saying it's a beast. So hopefully if that's what she has, the girls & I don't get it. I can handle it. The girls on the other hand, get so whinny & can't function. And Lord help me if Hubby gets sick! LOL Is it just my man or do all men act like they're dying when they get the slightest cold??? LOL
Today I finished up my newest kit & uploaded to the store. I'm not real big on St. Patrick's Day, but this kit has just a touch of the Irish in it. Seamus is a lightly shabby kit in sea foam green {although green is my favorite color, I hate kelly green!! LOL}. This way it's usable all year round for all types of layouts!!

Exhaustion

I have been working on re-vamping my sister's web site, as well as taking pictures of what seems like thousands of pieces of jewelry, for the past 2 days. My head is hurting, my eyes are blurry & my wrist is aching. Time to quit. I was working on a new kit; most of it's done ~ I just need to make the preview & package it all up. But I no longer have the energy. I was going to upload more freebies too, but that just takes too much energy!! LOL
Tomorrow I'm taking the kids to Mom's house where I'll be helping her organize her sewing rooms {yes she has 2} & building shelves. an all day project. I've come to the conclusion her sewing rooms will never be really organized. She has so much fabric & notions it's difficult to know where to start. And she keeps buying more!!! LOL I keep telling her she has a problem & needs FA {Fabricaholics Anonymous}!! LOL
I'm off to get some dinner for me & the girls then surfing the channels & vegging for the rest of the night....

Spring Cleaning & Headaches

Yesterday was not a good day. I woke up with a bit of a headache. Not a big deal, it's happened before, & a couple of Excedrin usually take care of it. I took D to her eye Dr. appointment at 9am, we were there for an hour & by the time we got home, my headache turned into a full blown migraine. So I instructed the girls to finish cleaning their room (they DO have a floor in there!!!), do the dishes & do some laundry while I go lay down. I didn't get up until 7 this morning.
Consequently I did not get the next round of freebies up yesterday, but they are posted now. Grab them & enjoy :)

Over the River & Through the Woods....

to Grandmother's house we go. We're off to visit my Mom today & Riley is going to bake an apple pie. {Grandmas are good at teaching pie making!!} Before I'm off for the day, I uploaded some more of my older kits....Enjoy ;)

I meant to get here much sooner, but I just got in a groove working on my site as well as my sister's. And once the mojo is flowing, it's hard to stop. I had to set the alarm on my cell phone each day so I wouldn't forget to pick the girls up from school!! LOL I get so into what I'm doing, I forget the world around me & when I'm on a roll I hate stopping. Even for the little things like going to the bathroom!! LOL
I made myself take a break for a minute so I can get the latest goodie posted. I have for you 2 quick stiks from the Amelia kit. And I'm doing some major house cleaning {on my hard drives, not my actual house!!}, so be sure to check back because I'm pretty sure there are going to be some more freebies!!

The Scent of Spring

It is ABSOLUTELY beautiful today. Sorry to those of you in the North East :( That is why I moved from Mass. 18 years ago!!! It is currently 90 degrees, a lite breeze & the wonderful scent of orange blossoms is in the air. I have no ambition right now. I went to the market this morning {after walking the youngest to school} my 3 girls still insist we feed them!! LOL And now all I want to do is sit out on the deck with a good book & waste the day away. Of course after about an hour outside my allergies will kick in & then I'll feel miserable :b So I am catching little doses of Spring air at a time ~ sweeping off the deck, walking to the mail box, sweeping off the front stoop, etc.
In between all that, I'm working on another goodie for you {so be sure to check back for that} and my sister's site. She makes beautiful handmade jewelry {click the banner on the right to visit her store} and she just sent me a bunch of pictures of earrings she recently completed. Now I need to edit them & get them in the shop. So, off to sweep a bit, then back to the ol' grind stone! Hope you all have a great day ;)

New Kit & a Goodie!!

Good morning! It's been awhile, but I've been busy. I designed a new kit AND I scrapped!!! The scrapping is what's so amazing. It's been sooooo long since I've done any of that. Since the job hunting is not going well at all, I have enough time on my hands now to get all those old photos scrapped. I've even pulled out some old developed pics to scan & scrap!! Some day, before I'm too old, I'd love to have them all done.
Now, on to my new kit. Amelia is kind of feminine, yet I think would still work for the guys, and has plenty of elements {51 to be exact} to play with. Check out the kit as well as some pages of the girls I scrapped with it ~










I just realized while uploading these, I didn't scrap a picture of Savannah!! I need to dig up some of the "old" photos of when she was a toddler. We have tons!!! Makes me feel so bad for the younger two, as each kid came along the pictures got fewer & farther between. I probably have half as many pictures {or less} of Darien as I do of Savannah. But friends tell me this is typical. Good thing I didn't have any more kids!!! The last kid would have NO pictures of him/herself!!! LOL

Super Bowl Sunday!!!

Not that it's a big deal to me!! LOL I will watch some though since the Cardinals managed to make it this far!! Hubby will definitely have it on & I will for sure watch the half time show {last few years it's been a bit lame in my opinion} and maybe catch a few new commercials. {Again, it seems in the past they haven't been so great} I'm hoping both will be better this year. They hype it up so much, then it's such a disappointment. Oh, well. Nothing else special planned today, kind of a lazy day with the girls. Sav will most likely sleep most of the morning. She was in her school musical {they did Willy Wonka & it was great!!} Last night was closing night & the cast party so she was out late. Well, according to her a midnight curfew is not late!! LOL
Well, since it's Feb. 1st, I thought I'd treat everyone to my very first desktop calendar made with my Valentina Kit!! Yeah you!! LOL
Here it is in action ~ I have this on my desktop ~ Hubby @ Thanksgiving with the 2 oldest when they were about 1 & 3 yrs old. {I forgot to label the photo, so I have to guess!!} I love these 2 pics of them. I sure do miss those days of the girls wanting us to hold & cuddle them :(

The Fridge Accident

I went through the many photos sitting on my hard drive & found this one {as well as the letter that went with it}.

Kids can be so weird.....

Now whether or not Savvy actually lost a bobbie pin in the fridge, she did pull out all the bottom drawers and climb in. I think they just wanted to see if she could fit in the fridge but I couldn't get any of them to admit it. They wrote down their stories & are sticking to them!! LOL

Darn Cold Weather....

Yup. It's official ~ winter has come to AZ :(
I was really enjoying the wonderful warm weather, then this week it decided to go cold. I know some of you are dealing with below zero temps, snow, sleet, rain & all the icky winter weather I really hate, but when the temps drop below 60 here, it's like a cold snap!! LOL D & I had to bundle up for our walk to school ~ long sleeves, jackets, & **gasp** jeans!! LOL I have to make sure I have a tissue pack my nose runs so much with the cold!! Then to make my walk even more enjoyable ~ yesterday I woke up at 4 AM with a bad allergy attack & was sneezing and blowing my nose most of the morning until my allergy tabs clicked in. Yuck!!
I've been working on another kit & I think I'm running out of steam! LOL I think after this one is done, I'll take a rest from designing for a bit and maybe actually scrap a few pages!! LOL Here's a sneak peek of my new kit, Blythe, in the form of a free quick stik!! YEAH!!!

Walking

Before I went back to working outside the home, I would walk the girls to school each day. I enjoy walking. I would average about 3 miles a day. I miss those walks. Not only were they good exercise, it was a great time for the girls to discuss their day while we walked home. I never really lost weight, but maintained it & was in fairly good shape. Three years & a desk job later, I am feeling the effects of not walking each day. {Those once 'fit good' jeans, are no longer fitting so well!!} Since I am currently unemployed, I figured it's time to take advantage of it & get back to walking. So all this week I've been walking the youngest to school. I only do it in the morning because there isn't enough time to get the middle one in the afternoon then walk to the school for the youngest. So, both ways, it's about 1 1/2 maybe 2 miles. Not bad, but man, oh man am I outta shape!! LOL Not only do my calves, butt & thighs ache but also my shins!! I've never had my shins ache from walking!! It's so weird. But I know it wont last & I feel so much better.
So, today after my morning walk, I sat down on my widening back end worked a bit on a new kit & made another QS from both Whitewash & Valentina. I thought some of you might enjoy it.

Hot....

Which is what it's been the past few days. Yesterday it was 79 degrees!! But oh, so nice. A couple days were breezy & just perfect. You'd never know it was January!! I love it. We've lightened up the blankets on our beds & are back using fans in every room, as well as opening up all the doors. It got me in a Spring cleaning mood! LOL I make the girls clean their bathroom every weekend, but they haven't done a deep down through cleaning in ages, so today I spent the morning scrubbing it down. Don't let anyone fool you ~ girls are sloppy little piglets!! I never use their bathroom, just pass it while walking down the hall to my room, but I noticed the trash was overflowing, the tub looked a bit grimy & the floor was very dirty. So I got out all the cleaning supplies, rubber gloves, threw my hair up & scrubbed walls, floors, toilet, tub & sink for an hour & a half. I'm not even sure what some of the grime was I cleaned & certinally don't care to know. And with 3 long haired girls, hair was EVERYWHERE!!! Not to mention all the stains on the sink & counter from hair color!! I was going to clean my bathroom {it just needs wiping down & the floors mopped}, but ran out of energy. I'll save that for tomorrow....
Enough about my dirty bathrooms, on to the more interesting {& fun} stuff. Just uploaded to the Store ~ Valentina. Perfect for Valentine's Day cards & layouts, or just for everyday layouts.

Exhaustion & the Sickies

I just finished up a 3 day designing marathon. I've been commissioned to put together 120 designs of custom iron pieces {entry doors, gates, security doors, fence & railing} for a catalogue. Whew! I'm glad it's over. I was so focused on designing, I had to put Post It's on my computer to remind me to pick the girls up from school!!

Today, my little one is home sick. She had complained of a sore throat on Sunday morning, but said nothing more about it the rest of the day. So I basically blew it off. Yesterday, after school she said it was really hurting, even when just swallowing water. When I checked her throat ~ it was very red & splotchy. So she had to gargle with salt water & Antiseptic mouthwash, go to bed early {6:30!!} and take a day off school to rest. She's feeling much better now, so she'll most likely go to school tomorrow. Let's just hope it's not a virus that will run amuck throughout the household!!
