Happy New Year!!

Yeah, I know. I'm a few days late. But better late than never. Today was a cold & rainy day which we get very few of here in AZ. {Thank goodness!!} I love the fact that we can still wear shorts in January without fear of freezing to death! LOL

I had planned on taking my middle one to Abercrombie, but she ended up with a severe headache & vomiting. I was also going to take the girls to the park, but the rain squelched that idea. So instead I did some more organizing. I have so many scrap files on both my laptop & my PC, I needed to get them all in one place & in a organized manner so I knew exactly what I had. It seems I'm constantly organizing files. Maybe one day I'll actually be done! LOL In my quest to be uber organized I found an old kit that was hiding on the PC. I thought you'd all enjoy it, so here for your pleasure is the free full kit Izadore ~

It is so cold & windy today!! My nose & toes have been cold all day & I'm now going to bundle up with a good book & bowl of popcorn! LOL

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We went to my Mom's with my 2 sisters & had a blast. It has become tradition whenever we get together to play Uno, & yesterday was the first time hubby played. We always end up in a fit of laughter & by the time we recover, we forget what started it off!! And the girls {ages 10, 12 & 15} love to play as much as we adults do. I think they like watching Mom & Aunties get silly {and there is NO alcohol involved!!!} more than playing the game!! LOL

A Quickie

A quick note before I run out to get the next kid after school! {One down, 2 to go!!} For the past 2 years I've done a 12 days of Christmas give-a-way. And this year is no different!! Starting this Friday and going until Dec. 24th, I will post a new gift each day for download. And in the end, you will have a full kit!! But this year I'm making it a true gift giving & not posting a preview of the whole kit. SURPRISE!!! Instead you get just a little teaser of what it will be!! Frustrated

I've been messing with my Blog today trying to change things around. I thought a winter or Holiday theme might be a nice change. So much for that idea! LOL
I wanted to add a background image & couldn't remember how to do it. {Yes, it's been that long since I've changed my Blog!} I wanted to have the background stationary & the text scroll {Like Brenda Smith's Blog. I love how this looks!} So I did a Google search for a tut. I found a great one, but for some reason, the background image was not showing up. I tried several different combos of code that I thought might work ~ & nothing. Then I thought maybe my image is too big. But what size do I make it? I had no idea. I know it can't be that difficult, I've built websites for goodness sake. But today Blogger has beaten me down! LOL
So, since the girls are begging me to feed them {darn those kids needing to be fed!! LOL} and I've lost patience w/ it, I quit for the night. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe.
PS ~ if anyone knows how to do this, I'd love to hear your tips ;)

Lucky Day!

Phew! I finally got the website back up & running. YEAH!!! I wanted to completely change it, but just not sure exactly what direction I wanted to go in. So for now, it's pretty much the same.
I spent the weekend hacking & caughing with a sore throat, & thankfully I feel better today & think I'm getting over it. Probably sleeping through pretty much the entire weekend helped!!
On a happy note, I found some more goodies for ya all on my little ol' harddrive! A retro style paper pack of holiday colors. Just in time for Holiday greeting cards, gift tags & layouts!!

Something for the Masses!

The remodeling of my website is taking longer than I thought!! But then, don't all remodels take longer, cost more money & run into a series of delays?? LOL Between redoing the site, getting my sister's site up & running (she sells handmade jewelry, look for a link here soon) and trying to get some new items made for the store, the days just fly by. Especially those when I have to stop "early" to get a kid here, take a kid there, pick up another from wherever, then the rest of the day is shot.

In the Holiday Mood & a Freebie!

Today in {usually} sunny Arizona, it is cloudy & a cool 69 degrees. It feels like rain, which makes me think of snow, which makes me shiver! I grew up in New England, and hated the cold, shoveling snow, and being holed up in the house for days during storms with no electricity. Don't get me wrong, I think fresh fallen snow in New England is absolutely beautiful, I just no longer want to be in the middle of it!! LOL

I feel bad that the girls haven't had a chance to experience it though. Hubby & I keep saying that one day we will take them up north when the snows fall, but have yet to make it there. Maybe this will be the year!!

Anyway, as I'm "bundling up" {which means I'm wearing shoes with socks & a sweatshirt!} and going through files on my computer, I found a gem. I had this kit setting on my hard drive for Lord knows how long, & given how the day feels, it's the perfect freebie!! Chill Factor is a full kit of icy cool papers, elements & an adorable snowman drawn by my oldest, Savannah!

Where Oh Where Have I Been???

Sorry to all those who were followers of my Blog. Life just sometimes gets away from you. My very busy, very stressful job is no more. Yeah!! :) And boo :(
Like so many, our company had fallen on tough times & some of us were let go. Now to find another job. Not all that easy. But in my down time, I am getting back to scrap booking!!! Yeah!!
I am currently freshening up my site. Not any huge changes, just a few little ones & I've re-worked a couple of my older kits. I've got to get back into the groove of designing ~ I have so many ideas in my head I feel my thoughts need organizing!! LOL
On the personal side, all this free time has allowed me to be there for the girls more, like in the old days when I didn't have a "real job". Today I took the younger 2 to a small park near the house. They were so excited. {it's nice that a 10 & 12 year old never get tired of the park!!} This one had a tire swing & that was the major appeal. Most of the parks have had them taken out. Apparently they've been a safety issue. Crazy, I know. Swings & slides can be pretty dangerous, too. Anyway, I had to get some pics & got some pretty goods ones too. The youngest, Darien, was not as cooperative. She'd rather play & run around then pose for Mom. So I don't have as many pics of her as I do of my photogenic, camera loving middle child, Riley. Now, had Savannah been there, the camera would've been full of her pics!! LOL
I'm off to finish my construction. Until next time....

And I realized something while adding these to the store ~ I designed my website on my old PC which has a lower screen resolution {800X600} and uploaded these latest items using my new laptop, which has a higher resolution. Now all the previews in the store look too small. I'm thinking I have to re-do the previews to make them larger & better to view on computers with higher resolutions. I know what I'll be doing next weekend!! I'm back to work today **sigh** so must go do my hair & make-up & leave the girls their "To Do" List. Have a great day!! ;)

It's Been Much Too Long....

since I've sat down to the computer & scrapped some layouts. So that's what I've done the past 2 days. I was just itching to scrap the pictures of our trip to San Diego & still have many more to go. I've been bringing so much work home, I haven't had any time what so ever for scrapping. And I'm not looking forward to Monday morning {after a whole week off} when I get all those screaming phone calls of "Where is my door design!!??" I will not think about that this weekend, this week is all about me & my family, and the 5 layouts I managed to get done ~

Happy 4th!!

Yes, I'm a day early, but I may not want to Blog tomorrow. I'm not quite sure what we'll be doing tomorrow since it's so hot here in the desert. The high is expected to be about 110, so we may be staying inside or by the pool most of the day. We haven't decided yet if we're going to go out for the fireworks. Anywhere you go, you have to get there at least 3 hours before the show & it's tough to sit in 110 degree weather for 3 hours waiting for a 1/2 hour show.

Hubby & I just got back from a 2 day stay in San Diego. My MIL rented a house in Vista CA, about 10 miles from the shore & paid for us to drive out for a couple days at the beach. We had so much fun. The first day (Monday) the weather was perfect ~ according to locals a "hot" 90 degrees! LOL To us Arizonans it was nice & cool. The water was cold at first, but not too bad once you were in. Hubby boogie boarded the entire 3 hours we were there & was pretty sore when we got home. The girls did a little boarding, but we mostly played in the waves. The second day (Tuesday) it was cloudy & the waves were HUGE! Perfect for boarding & playing, but very cold!! We played for another 3 or so hours then headed back to the house to pack for the drive home. It was a nice mini vacation. I actually stretched it out for the whole week!! I deserve it!
