Hoppy Easter!!!

No, that's not a typo! I just love to say "Hoppy Easter"! LOL Savannah, being a "hip" 13 yr. old says I'm "soooo weird"!!! If she saw this post she'd probably tell me that "hip" is so lame!! But then again, I'm sure most mom's are lame to their 13 yr. old daughters. I know my mom was. {And sometimes ~ still is!! LOL} It's 8:32 and the girls are watching Pirates of the Caribbean II {again} and I'm waiting for them to go to bed so I can hide a few eggs. I usually go all out & they have several dozen to find, but we're in tight quarters & there are very few places to hide eggs. {No, I'm not living in the rental car!!} I started a tradition when Savannah was a yr. old, that every year, the Easter Bunny brings them a new stuffed bunny. So they'll get their bunny, a chocolate bunny & some eggs to hunt for. They're getting older {and sadly no longer believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa or the Tooth Fairy} so a smaller Easter is OK with them. Well, with the older 2 it'll be OK. The youngest {who is 8} would love to have more candy!! That girl is a junk food junky ~ big time!!! LOL!

Anyway, I prolly won't have time tomorrow, so I'm giving you part 8 just a tad early ~ a paper & silk flower ~

Lost My Mojo

I've been trying to put together another kit, but just can't seem to create anything I'm happy with. And I hate it when that happens. So, I'm thinking of maybe putting off the kit for now & fiddling with some elements. But who knows ~ I can't even create a LO I'm happy with!! And Now For Some Good News....

Hubby talked w/ Brian from the is. co. yesterday, so I didn't have to get all tuff & bitchy with him!! {I was kinda looking forward to it!!! LOL} It turns out they will fix everything except the dent, which will cost a tad over $3000, and the remaining $2000 {or there abouts} which will equal the value of the truck, they will cut us a check for. It turns out they will give us $5000, {the value of the truck}, but won't fix it if the repair costs exceed 60% of that value!! Makes no sense to me ~ $5000 is $5000, no matter what/who the check is written for ~ unless you're an ins. co.!! And it turns out that to write the truck off as salvage involves more paperwork than getting it fixed & cutting us a check, and Brian didn't want to deal with the extra paperwork!! Thank goodness for excessive amounts of paperwork & lazy ins. adjusters!!

Hubby has decided we will live with the dent for awhile & use the $2000 to get out of this apartment. Since we've had kids, we've always rented a 3 bedroom house and now we're cramped into a 2 bedroom apt. Which I hate! I love having my own yard, driveway, laundry room, and of course the xtra space!!

Although the kids have today off, I don't, so I'm off to get ready for work and to leave you with today's goodie ~ another bow & ric rac ~

Not So Funny

Hubby got a call yesterday from the insurance adjuster. They want to junk the truck!! According to them, they've "discovered" more work that needs to be done. Brian, the adjuster, said that after the garage "opened" the truck & looked inside, they found it needed some more work, plus, to fix the dent in the side, they want to replace the entire bed of the truck!! The extra work on the inside has something to do with the electrical for the stereo. I want hubby to talk w/ the guys at the shop, find out how much it'll cost to fix just the locks, ignition & dent {w/o getting a whole new bed!}, & if it all comes to, or under what the insurance co. will pay {I believe it's around $4,000}, then tell them that's what we want to do. We can fix the dome light ourselves & have a car stereo co. fix the radio. He's convinced that the ins. co. won't go for it. They are in the business of making money, and it's to their advantage to pay us the truck's value {I think they said that's $58,000} then sell it for salvage, getting back a big chunk of what they paid us for it. We had a big discussion last night about the whole thing. My feelings are, we've paid our premiums on time, every month for over a year, they should fix it the way we want it fixed. He doesn't want to deal with this guy Brian {he doesn't want to get bitchy w/ him!!} & since I have no problem with that, I get to haggle with him!! My tough guy!! LOL Got my fingers crossed.

I'm convinced this is what I got for a rental!! OK, a Dodge Neon isn't exactly a sports car, but it does have a spoiler!! And they're both red!! The rental is so small, I'm sure it was from the "Grow Your own Car" series!!! LOL Can you tell this teeny tiny car gets to me?? I can't wait to get my truck back!!

No Foolin'!!

I've had a kit sitting on my hard drive, half finished, when I thought it'd be fun to give pieces of it away each day for the month of April {begining, of course, on April 1st}! It's been revamped a bit, more elements added, and is perfect for baby, Easter, and all the events in between! I had so much fun doing the last kit give away, I just had to do another. There's a catch, though. {Isn't there always a catch??!!} Each download will be active for only 2 days before I take them down. {Not such a bad catch after all!!} It's called 'Fresh', which fits right in with my "F" theme!! It was purely unintentional, but here is a peek at FernLili's Fresh Freebie. {This would've been perfect to release on a Friday in February!! Little Cars

We got our rental car while we're waiting for the truck to get repaired. Our insurance will cover a car up to $25/day, which mean if we don't want any out of pocket costs, we get a compact car. Well, let me tell you, after driving a huge Dodge Ram 1500 for over year, most cars feel compact!! We got a Dodge Neon, and man is that a little car!! Now, I'm very short ~ only 4'11" ~ and it's even small for me!! Because I'm cursed with very short legs, I have to have the seat up as far as it goes {in the truck I also have to use a pillow to boost me up to see over the steering wheel!!!} and in order to get out of this itty bitty Neon, I have to push the seat back because my knees hit under the steering column!! I've ever been in a car where I've had to do that. And it's so low. I love that the truck is up high & I can see over most other vehicles. Here's hoping it won't take too long to get the truck back!! Enough of my ramlings for this morning. Off to work now. Until next time....

Update

It turns out the truck wasn't quite in Tucson. It was in Mariopa, which is about 1/2 way between here & Tucson. And it's not in as bad of condtion as it sounded. The interior damage is all very repairable & the radio wasn't ripped out, just the face plate taken off. So it is now at a repair shop in town and waiting for the insurance adjuster to inspect the damage. Now we sit & wait.
Just got a report from my SIL ~ our niece is doing very well. She has had her casts removed & is wearing walking "boots", but is still unable to put any weight on her feet. She has to go for a CAT scan to see if her right leg still needs a plate. {The bone broke through the skin, so they didn't put in a plate for fear of infection.} After the CAT scan, they'll know if she'll need another operation. So we wait & see. She has gotten the go ahead to go back to campus & join her classmates in a few classes, but for only 1/2 the day. A nice break from the bordom of laying around the house all day!!
Off to getting kids to school & me to work, so until next time....

A Big DUH!!!

Everday I check my Blog & 4Shared to read all the comments. And, yes, I read every one of them!! I thought it was odd that I did not see any comments here, but a ton over at 4Shared. Now, please don't think me vain, but don't we all love to hear praise?? Besides, I missed hearing from everyone. So I checked my Blog settings. Apparently, somewhere along the way, I checked the box to have all comments moderated. Which ment they into a folder for me to read & approve for publishing bfore they show up here. What an airhead I am sometimes!! But got that now fixed. There was a post {can't remember who, or if it was here or 4Shared} tha brought to my attention, I do not have a link to my store anywhere on my Blog!! If you haven't noticed from my site & here, I really like I clean look. So I never added any links in the side bar to keep my Blog clean. I guess it's pretty presumptious {sp} to think everyone who visits me here, also knows where to buy my stuff. Now I have to take a few minutes to play with the template & add a store link so visitors know where to shop. But will be for another day.

Good News, Bad News

The good news ~
The truck was found!!!

The bad news~
It's in Tucson {we live in Tempe} and is in bad condition. The radio was ripped out {it wasn't even a very good one. Had AM/FM stereo & a tape deck!!}, the interior lights were smashed, & the ignition is mangled. And that was just what I got over the phone at 7:00 last night. There could be more damage.

And more good news ~
It's covered under our insurance!

Stolen!!

Unbelievable. Yesterday, sometime between 8:30 AM & 3:00 PM, some low life stole our truck!! It just amazes me that people have no fear committing crimes in broad daylight. I filed a police report, & the officer told me our truck {a 96 Doge Ram} was one of the most popular stolen vehicles in Phoenix. Lucky us. After work today, we have go to the insurnce agency to file a report with them & get a rental, since the truck is our only form of transportation. It was very low on gas, so hopefully the thief will just do some joy riding, then leave it when the gas runs out. And hopefully all in one piece! We already know we will most likely have to have the ignition repaired, maybe the locks, & who knows what else. What bummer.

Thanks for reading about my wonderful {written sarcastically!} weekend. I had some time on my hands ~ remember, I can't go aywhere! so I did some playing on the 'puter. As a little surprise to those who've read this far {were you bored today??? LOL} here are some felt flowers. As I was zipping these up, I noticed a Funny ~ Felt Flower Freebie From FernLili!!!" I can't believe it! I completed another LO!!! Yeah me! I read a few other Blogs, & have to admit I'm a bit jealous these ladies manage to pump out a great LO just about everyday. I'm probably never going to be that profecient (sp), but I try! This one is of all pictures Savannah took with my digital camera {except the one of herself, of course!}. She is a talented gal, but oh, so very weird!! LOL. Check it out ~

Miserable, Crappy Weekend...

Yes, that was my weekend & today I have to go to work! It's been beautiful here ~ in the low 80's, but my allergies acted up ~ BAD ~ so I really didn't enjoy any of it. My eyes are so red, itchy & puffy, and I've sneezed more times in 1 hour than I care to think about! I've taken my allergy tablets, but they always take a while to kick in. Then when they finally do, I'm drowsy! I've never had allergies before until I became pregnant w/ my first daughter. Go figure. I did sit down at the computer & between bouts of sneezing, blowing my nose & itching my eyes, I pumped out a LO!! Yeah!! I've been trying to figure out how to use Savannah's pictre in a LO. It's taken me about a week of it sitting on a blank page in PSP!!! I knew I wanted to use the doodles & papers from the awesome freebie at Cat Scrap called "Another Circus". Finaly, I sat down today & added papers, deleted them. I added elements, then deleted them, too!! I decided I needed to walk away from it for a bit, so I took 2 of my girls out for a little shopping. I came back 2 hours later & went back at it. Here is the final result {hard to believe it took me so long!!}

New Items in the Store

I've got some cool new elements in the store this week. Two new collections ~ gingham ribbons & bows and silk flowers with "diamond" centers. And my favorite ~ hand drawn doodles. I had a couple of slow days at work, so I doodled away!! LOL

I really had fun with the doodles, so I started playing with the marker art tool in PSP. I love how it looks. Just like a real marker with shades of light & dark. So colored in a few of them & thought ~ "Ta-da the perfect freebie ~ doodle stickers!" Enjoy!
